Sports Medicine is a crucial part of our Sports Performance service here at SoCo, and is the best place to come for diagnosis of long-term and more serious injuries, as well as any of those issues which haven’t responded to other methods of treatment.

Ever want to improve your sporting performance? (Rhetorical question!)
As you may have realised, it’s not as simple as just wishing for it. For sporting performance, as with any skill, practice and correct technique are key. Here at SoCo, our Sports and Performance Psychology service aims to hand over the mental aspect of that key to you.
Some of the areas we can work with you on include imagery, positive self-talk, and goal-setting. We can also facilitate individual, group workshop and coaching-specific sessions. This list is by no means exhaustive, so if you have any questions on the service please let us know.
Our strength and conditioning service can assist you in injury risk reduction for all areas of the body, and for performance enhancement. Run by an expert team, our S&C service differs slightly to what you get in a regular gym. Available in 1:1 and 2:1 (2 people to 1 S&C expert) formats; block booking for teams is also an option… please contact us for more information.
Sport-specific assessments looking at technique and both internal and external risk factors unique to you as you either recover from injury or seek to enhance performance. We will perform a comprehensive whole-body assessment to check for any variables that might hinder your rehab or performance. If needed, we can record you performing your chosen sporting activity and use elite biomechanical analysis software to identify any areas that need addressing. It will also include a personalised sports-specific rehabilitation/injury prevention/performance enhancement programme for you to take away and implement. A mention in your victory speech will suffice.
We’re very excited at SoCo to be able to offer you or your club one of the major components of any professional sport set-up –an elite/high performance consultancy service. What this involves in the pro sport set-up is usually someone who oversees all aspects of athlete or team preparation in conjunction with the specialists in each area. This can involve management of nutrition, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation, and technical/tactical aspects of the sport. Luckily, we have such experts in their respective fields here on site at SoCo who have worked in these programmes in Australian Rules, Soccer, Intercounty GAA, Rugby, Athletics, Cycling, Swimming (you get the idea!), and who can help with such individual/team preparation.
What we can offer is a bespoke service to you or your club whereby we can work if needed with your existing staff (physiotherapist, nutritionist, etc.) in any capacity, from improving upon existing structures mid-season to conducting a wholesale review and bespoke development plan for your upcoming season. This can be conducted here at SoCo with dedicated days to you or your club, or alternatively on-site visits to you or your club can be arranged. Due to the individual and specific nature of such a service, it’s hard to give generic pricing info, however if you get in contact with some rough idea of what you’re looking for, we can contact you back, make a plan of attack and go from there if you’re happy.
